Fresh in from Belgium ...

Belgium, that’s that small country amongst those other small countries in Europe; and previously home of our newest Whale Shark guide: Sammy. He speaks four languages, has a great personality, is a triathlon champion, and loves to swim with whale sharks. Now he is taking our valued guests into the rain forest showing them Mexico’s fantastic wild life, but his favorite location is the ocean.

“I love being around the ocean, and our Whale Shark Safari is incredible. Floating in the ocean and looking into the eyes of the sharks is incredible” says Sammy. “The safari is a full day tour, and every time I return I feel great having been in this incredible nature with the sharks”.

We provides private whale shark safaris with guides who speak the native languages of our guests. The safaris are top quality private tours, originating from any departure point along the Riviera Maya between Cancun and Tulum.

The Express Tour

For the “late risers” we offer our Express Version. This safari leaves from Cancun instead Holbox Island which results in shorter driving distances. We provide pick up transportation from any hotel along the Riviera Maya/Cancun.

The safari includes a Mexican lunch at a beachfront restaurant after return from swimming with the whale sharks.

7:45 a.m. Arrival at Puerto Juarez, light breakfast provided.
8:00 a.m Departure for whale sharks.
9:00 a.m. As we get underway over the vast Caribbean waters, we navigate in search of any sign of their presence. As soon as we see a HUGE fin in the water, the most exciting part of the day begins.
11:00 p.m. Once everyone has tired themselves out we board back into the boat and make way for Isla Mujeres.
12:30 p.m. We’ll spend the rest of our time eating lunch and relaxing on the beach.
  • 2:00 p.m. After lunch and relax, we load back into the boat and head back to Puerto Juarez.
  • 2:30 p.m. Return to the hotel with big happy smiles!

The Classic Tour

This exciting safari leads to an area that is mostly untouched by tourism. We visit the picturesque Holbox Island in the Gulf of Mexico with a population of 1500 people and just a handful of small beach hotels.

This island is part of a large nature reserve where wildlife and scenery are protected and strict rules are being observed. Our guest have the opportunity to explore the island and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere.

Friendliest creature of the seas

This is where it all happens, here in the Gulf of Mexico, a favorite destination with Whale Sharks during the summer months.

A sure rendezvous with this gigantic fish, measuring up to 18 meters in length and weighing up to 10 tons. It is usually a solitary animal, and is rarely spotted as a group. This is what renders this unique site in the turquoise Mexican waters so exclusive, it is one of the rare areas where you may get a chance to observe more than one specimen at once.

Even Jacques Cousteau only caught a glimpse of two in his whole lifetime! These temperate untainted waters attract the Whale Shark due to the abundance of plankton. While in the water with them, you will be able to admire their magnificence and observe at close range some of their peculiarities, as they gracefully move their checkered gray-white bodies through the waters.
